Ford remains one of the most popular American carmakers, especially their line of SUVs. What Ford SUV is the most favored by consumers? Today we’ll be taking a closer look at the Ford SUV lineup and answering that very question alongside others. Like how does the line of Ford Hybrid SUVs compete with other traditional models?


Ford’s probably best known for options in pickups, especially the F-series. If not for their trucks then for powerful cars like the Mustang. However, they offer some well-regarded SUVs in both regular and hybrid options that shouldn’t be overlooked. It also boasts user-friendly controls that are easy to reach and intuitive to use. What made it most popular in most consumer road tests was its outdoorsy character. The Bronco Sport comes with a range of outdoor-friendly features (although it’s less off-road capable than the standard Bronco). These include things like off-road suspension, all-terrain tires, and off-road cruise control called trail control. Features like this make the Bronco Sport an overall popular choice for the widest range of consumers.

What a Ford Hybrid SUV offers consumers

Ford Hybrid SUV options offer consumers options for fuel economy without losing the power found in a traditional Ford. Both the Escape and Explorer are available as hybrids. The Escape is more highly-regarded of the two, although not as well regarded as the Bronco Sport, Expedition, or Edge. The Escape boasts 44/37 MPG for cities and highways respectively and seats 5. It offers a blend of comfort and convenience that make it a more-than-dependable alternative to regular vehicles.


This is not necessarily indicative of any degree of superiority or inferiority between models. Simply put, the better ranking models prove more popular with more consumers. That doesn’t mean a highly ranked model like the Bronco Sport is necessarily a better drive. Nor does this mean the Ford hybrid SUV options are lackluster either compared to other Fords or their competition. The Bronco Sport’s ease of operation and its outdoor features make it a more popular option than the Escape. The Escape can still be a great option for someone looking for what a Ford SUV usually offers but with greater MPG.
