What is a recall?

While a recall can be a pain in the neck, it’s actually the manufacturer ensuring that its vehicles promise a secure driving experience. So, if a car has been deemed unsafe in any way shape or form by the manufacturer or NHTSA, a notice will be sent to the owner to make them aware of the safety hazard. No matter what, the manufacturer must repair these issues at no cost to the driver. Please don’t hesitate to schedule a service appointment with us and we’ll eliminate any hazards that are prevalent within your vehicle.

What is NHTSA?

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is the federal authority that upholds the safety standards within vehicles. They also provide vehicle safety ratings so you’ll always know what models are considered the safest. It’s clear that their main mission has the driver's security in mind.

How do I know if the pre-owned vehicle that I'm interested in has a safety recall?

Simply enter the vehicle’s VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) into the NHTSA search tool and you’ll be able to find out if a car has been recalled. If you don’t have the VIN handy, you can also search by using the make and model. Curious about the history of one of our used vehicles? Simply either request a report from us and we’ll be happy to provide you with one or click on the AutoCheck® logo below one of the vehicles in our inventory and you’ll get access to a clear report. Plus, AutoCheck® will also show whether the vehicle has received a recall or not.

How will I find out if my vehicle is subject to a safety recall after I purchase it?

You’ll receive a vehicle recall on your model via your phone, email or through first-class mail. Make sure your address and vehicle registration is up-to-date in order to receive this notice. A recall will include information about the safety risks that were discovered within your particular model.
