Quick Tips for First-Time F-150 Owners in Greer, SC
Quick Tips for First-Time F-150 Owners in Greer, SC
Getting the keys for your new Ford F-150 is an experience that you'll never want to forget. After weeks of research, test-driving different models and negotiating your final rate, it feels good stepping into the driver's seat and starting your Ford F-150 pickup's fiery engine. The team here at D&D Motors is thrilled that you've found the truck of your dreams, and to send you off right, we thought we'd compile a few tips that will enhance your ownership experience even more. If you're a first-time F-150 owner, or new to the truck world altogether, here's our advice as you get to know your vehicle.
Download the FordPass™ App.
The FordPass™ App gives you unparalleled access to complimentary remote features, vital vehicle information, FordPass™ Rewards and more. And, while Ford Roadside Assistance comes with your purchase for up to five years or 60,000 miles (from the date of sale), you'll want to sign up to access the full scope of benefits, like fuel delivery, flat-tire repair and lockout assistance.*
Get to know your boundaries.
Remember that your Ford F-150 won't drive like your old sedan. Handling and cornering will be different, and both come with new boundaries. Your Ford F-150 truck's bulk is indispensable when it comes to high numbers in horsepower and payload, but it does restrict some movement. Prepare to brake sooner than later, accelerate slowly and check that your pickup can fit under that bridge or down that narrow street.
Use your backup camera.
Especially if you've got a trailer attached. Your new 2022 Ford F-150 will come with a rearview camera with Dynamic Hitch Assist, which will make reversing into a parking spot or hitching up your trailer a breeze, but if you're not used to handling a full-size pickup, you may want to practice reversing before you've got thousands of pounds hitched to your vehicle.
Become familiar with the Ford SYNC® 4 system.
Not only is it unsafe to tinker with the Ford SYNC® 4 system while you're on the road, you probably won't have a full understanding of the program with a few clicks and swipes. While parked, turn on your Ford F-150 to access the SYNC® 4 system (standard on the 2022 model), open your owner's manual or turn on a YouTube video, and get familiar with your truck's high-tech infotainment system.
Keep up with maintenance.
Your Ford F-150 was built to last, and to achieve a long lifespan, keeping up with regular maintenance is a must. Our service center would be happy to give your Ford F-150 the tailored service it requires, so refer to your owner's manual for its service intervals and our monthly service specials if you'd like to save a little extra!
If you'd like to become a first-time Ford F-150 owner, stop by D&D Motors at 13655 East Wade Hampton Blvd. Greer, SC 29651 for a test drive. Or if you have any specific questions about your F-150, contact us or schedule a service appointment with our team.
