F 150 Lightning Upgrade Coming Soon in 2023

Anyone in the market for a new vehicle has always had plenty of options. But now, with the emergence of electric vehicles, those options are expanding even further. Those who want to choose a vehicle that’s also good for the environment have more choices than over. As such, the F 150 Lightning made a strong debut in its first year of production. And it’s poised to have an even stronger second year.

The Ford F 150 Lightning is undergoing some major upgrades in 2023 that consumers are sure to appreciate.

What Makes The F-150 Lightning Stand Out?

The F-150 Lightning was the first F-Series truck to go fully electric in 2022. It offers the same superb driving experience with purposeful technology and wide-ranging intelligent features. Ford even offers over-the-air updates and bug fixes so your experience is always improving, even without a trip to the auto shop!

And, of course, it being electric, you get to go green while you go.

But even with all of the great features, Ford is taking it a step further in 2023 with some important upgrades. The second-generation product will start by having its very own dedicated platform for a smoother overall experience.

However, the main upgrade revolves around the biggest talking point for electric vehicles: the battery.

The Upgraded Ford F-150 Lightning Battery Is Sure To Please Consumers

Consumers who purchased the first-generation F 150 Lightning should be pleased with the lithium-ion battery. It’s a solid battery, but the 2023 model will have an upgraded version to make it even better. In fact, Ford will be transitioning from a lithium-ion battery to a lithium-iron-phosphate battery.

But that’s not the only exciting news for electric vehicle lovers.

The current F 150 Lightning utilizes an NCM9 battery. Nickel makes up roughly 90% of the battery material, which offers a better driving range and energy density. The advanced version being released soon is the NCM9+, which exceeds the performance of the current battery.

The NCM9+ electric vehicle battery was recently recognized at the CES 2023 Innovation Awards. So it’s no surprise that Ford would select this unit for their vehicles since they strive to be the best.

Ford Continues To Deliver With The F-150 Lightning

Ford’s transition into the electric vehicle market has been nothing short of remarkable. Their goal is to manufacture 150,000 F-150 Lighting trucks in 2023. And in general, their goal is to make 600,000 electric vehicles globally by 2024.

Their relationship with quality suppliers sets them over the top and helps them reach these remarkable goals.

As Ford continues to deliver on performance, consumers can maintain their confidence in the brand.
